The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of the Ozarks (GLO)
Missouri is not known for its commitment to the rights of LGBT
persons. This can change. Since 1996, The Gay and Lesbian
Community Center of the Ozarks (GLO) has provided a safe haven in
the Southwest Missouri community for LGBT persons and specifically
for at-risk groups within the LGBT population (such as youth,
persons with HIV/AIDS, and people in need of professional counseling
and support). As a community center we have been continually
meeting the evolving needs of LGBT persons and their families. We
provide a meeting place for support and social groups and a venue
for special events. Where other organizations have come and gone,
GLO has been a steady, present, and continually-growing catalyst for
change in our community. This is Your community center. As we move
into the 22nd Century, GLO is about empowering each of us
to express our individuality, to live with pride and dignity, and to
emerge, united, as a stronger community.
