The Pride Collective and Community Center
individuals came together to discuss the possibility of establishing a
community center for GLBT people in Fargo-Moorhead and the Red River
Valley. It was agreed that the time had come for GLBT people in our
area to start a community center run by and for GLBT people. Working
over the summer months, volunteers got our office space ready for our
grand opening on October 7, 2000. Media coverage was provided by The
Forum and television station KVLY.
What
is our mission? "To create a sense of community and promote education
and social activities aimed at furthering the social, emotional, and
physical well-being and development of the GLBT community in the Red
River Valley."
